Helen Johanna Howard was born on March 10th, 1952, in Frankfort, Germany, where her father, Edwin Dennis Howard, an american militar, was destined. Johanna spent her childhood between Germany and France.
In 1964 her father died, and she and her mother moved to Hawaii, where she met her future husband, Ralph Lindsey. They married in 1970 and had 3 sons: Alfred, Joseph and Garret.
After some time she got bored with her work as housewife, and started to write. She published her first novel - "Captive Bride" - in 1977, and since then has published more than 40 novels.
After her husband's death she moved to Maine, US, to stay near her family.
Johanna's books span the various eras of history, including books set in the Middle Ages, the American "Old West" and the popular Regency England-Scotland. She has even written a few sci-fi romances. By far the most popular among her books are the stories about the Malory-Anderson Family, a Regency England saga.
